Independent Sales Representative – Outdoor Specialty Channel (US and Canada)

We are seeking an experienced Independent Sales Representative to represent VALLON sunglasses and goggles within the outdoor specialty retail channel. This role is focused on using existing experience and contacts to call on brick-and-mortar outdoor retailers, developing new business, and growing/training existing accounts. The ideal candidate already represents complementary outdoor brands and does not currently carry any competing sunglass or goggle brands.

This is a commission-based, independent contractor position with additional promotions seasonally for added compensation (new opening door and goal bonuses).

Who we are looking for

VALLON is looking for a seasoned independent sales representative who already has deep relationships in the outdoor, resort, and specialty retail channels, and who can open the ‘right’ doors that enhance VALLON’s reputation in the industry. This person should have experience with carrying multiple lines, be comfortable with structured reporting, and be able to represent VALLON’s premium positioning with confidence and consistency. Ideally, someone who thrives on storytelling - able to translate the brand’s heritage, product performance, and margin advantages into compelling pitches that convert. Finally, this person should operate with true accountability: proactive communication, clean follow-through, and a track record of pioneering premium accessory brands.

Key Responsibilities

Represent and promote the VALLON brand of sunglasses and goggles to outdoor specialty retailers, sunglass specialty and winter accounts within an assigned territory.

  • Call on physical brick-and-mortar accounts (no e-commerce-only)
  • Open new retail accounts and grow sell-through with existing partners
  • Execute in-store presentations, line showings, clinics, and product education
  • Support retail partners with merchandising guidance and brand storytelling 
  • Attend regional and outdoor trade shows or corporate gifting events as needed 
  • Communicate regularly with internal teams regarding account activity, feedback, and opportunities

Qualifications

Proven experience as an independent sales rep in the outdoor industry. 

  • Existing relationships with outdoor, resort and winter specialty retailers
  • Currently carries outdoor brands that complement (but do not compete with) sunglasses or goggles
  • Strong understanding of the outdoor retail landscape and specialty channel dynamics
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while representing the brand professionally

Compensation & Structure

Commission-based compensation.

  • Independent contractor (1099) role  
  • Territory-based representation
