01. Plastic Cleanup

The plastic cleanup program is our way of offsetting our material consumption during production.
We want to ensure that even though we create plastic waste, we are recycling more material than we generate.

For every pair of eyewear sold, 1 kg of plastic waste is cleaned up and recycled.

02. Recycled Materials

In 2023, we sought to create our most sustainable sunglasses yet. We now have 4 models of sunglasses that feature frames made of 85% recycled fishing nets.
THE REVIVALS

Super sustainable sunglasses.

Our Freshwater Revivals and Saltwater Revivals sunglasses marked the beginning of our journey into using the innovative nylon-6 material to produce modern sunglass frames. Their success was followed quickly by the release of the Malizia, and later the Watchtowers - as we continue to design and build sustainable, durable, and best-in-class eyewear.

Recycled fishing nets are fused into a highly durable and resistant nylon 6 polyamide.

03. Malizia Mangroves

2023 marked the beginning of a new partnership with Boris Herrmann and Team Malizia, the team who famously sailed Greta Thunberg on her carbon-free voyage across the Atlantic.

TACKLING CLIMATE CHANGE

The Malizia.

Team Malizia are sailing to raise awareness for climate change. We chose to partner with them to create the world’s most sustainable sailing sunglasses, the Malizia.

Designing the Malizia marked our first step in exploring more sustainable materials for manufacturing performance sunglasses.

MALIZIA MANGROVE PARK

10 mangroves planted for every pair sold.

Approximately 1/3 of the world’s mangrove stocks have been destroyed over the last 40 years. We are proud to be doing our part to support the Malizia Mangrove Park. On a mission to plant 2 million mangrove plants, they are helping to conserve some of our most vulnerable marine and coastal environments.
