01. Plastic Cleanup

Since 2020, we've partnered with certified plastic-recovery programs to fund the collection of ocean-bound plastic.

For every pair sold, we fund the recovery of 1kg of plastic waste, of which any recyclable materials are re-used. This program is tracked and independently audited by CleanHub.

02. Recycled Materials

In 2023, we sought to create our most sustainable sunglasses yet. We now have 4 models of sunglasses that feature frames made of 85% recycled fishing nets.
THE REVIVALS

Frames made from 85% recycled fishing nets

The Freshwater Revivals and Saltwater Revivals marked the beginning of our journey into using recycled fishing nets fused into a durable nylon-6 to produce sunglasses frames.

Their success was followed quickly by the release of the Malizia, and later the Watchtowers™. We continue to build eyewear from recycled and bio-based materials that don't compromise on durability and performance.

Recycled fishing nets are fused into a highly durable and resistant nylon 6 polyamide.

03. Malizia Mangroves

2023 marked the beginning of a new partnership with Boris Herrmann and Team Malizia, the team who famously sailed Greta Thunberg on her carbon-free voyage across the Atlantic.

TACKLING CLIMATE CHANGE

Malizia

Team Malizia are sailing to raise awareness for climate change. We partnered with them to create the Malizia, high-performance sailing sunglasses with frames made from 85% recycled fishing nets and exceptional VALLON V52® lenses.

Designing the Malizia marked our first step in exploring more sustainable materials for manufacturing performance sunglasses.

With frames made of 85% recycled fishing nets, Malizia shares the same recycled-material frame as the Revivals.

For every pair of Malizia sold, we donate 10 mangroves to the Malizia Mangrove Park.

MALIZIA MANGROVE PARK

10 mangroves planted for every pair sold.

Approximately 1/3 of the world’s mangrove stocks have been destroyed over the last 40 years. We are proud to be doing our part to support the Malizia Mangrove Park. On a mission to plant 5 million mangrove plants, they are helping to conserve some of our most vulnerable marine and coastal environments.
