The Surf Aviators Prescription (Rx) model combines the best of the 70s with everything you need from your modern sunglasses. The distinct aviator shape could be found everywhere in the 70s and early 80s, after which it completely disappeared. We made it our mission to bring it back. The Surf Aviators (Rx) are fitted with superior polarized performance lenses from the world leading manufacturer of prescription lenses Essilor. For the classic mirrored version check out the Ski Aviators.
The price includes prescription lenses, tracked express shipping, and a 2-year warranty.
How does the prescription process work?
- Place your order for a VALLON Rx product.
- Upload your prescription during the purchase or email us afterwards.
- Receive your new VALLON Rx (prescription) product within 28 days of order approval.
Please note we are not able to accommodate requests for progressive / reading lenses. Only Spherical and Cylindrical (astigmatism) corrections are taken into consideration.

Maximum protection lenses
The polarized Cat. 3 lenses from Essilor are finished with their proprietary Crizal® technology. They feature double-sided anti-reflective UV395 protection (100% UV protection), anti-scratch, and hydro-oleophobic coatings to shield from dirt and water. With an ABBE value of 41, they offer superior clarity for sports prescription lenses.

Prescription FAQ
We currently only offer Rx lenses for the Howlin', Heron Glacier, Heron Mountain, Heron Ocean, Heron Desert, Daytrippers, Waylons, Ski Aviators, Surf Aviators, and Wilburys. You can view our Prescription collection here.
Spherical -8.00 cyl +2.00 and Spherical +4.00 cyl +2.00. If your prescription is out of the mentioned range, please send it to us with the model that you have in mind and we will check with our optician if it is possible.
The only corrections that are taken into consideration are the Spherical and Cylindrical (astigmatism) corrections.
At present we are only able to offer photochromic and prism lenses on Howlin’ Rx sunglasses, for an additional cost. Please send a message to our Customer Support team after placing your order for any special requests.
No, we currently do not offer bifocal, varifocal, or progressive/reading lenses.
Yes. VALLON Rx (prescription) lenses are built with Cat. 3 / Cat. 4 lenses, finished with Crizal® technology. These lenses are developed with double-sided anti-reflective UV395 protection (100% UV protection).
VALLON Rx (prescription) products do not block harmful blue light from devices such as LED screens. However, the blue light found in natural light is not harmful to the eye.
No. Glass (mineral) lenses are not currently available in VALLON products. Glass and mineral lenses are not commonly used in sports eyewear as they are susceptible to shattering, which makes them unsafe for certain sports.
Yes, as long as your prescription is within the range specified.
Yes, as long as your prescription is within the range specified.
The most common format for prescriptions worldwide is TABO. However, some countries including Italy, Switzerland and France use a prescription format called INT. For VALLON prescription orders, we ask all customers to ensure that their prescription is measured in TABO format. If you have an INT prescription, you can easily bring it to your optician to be transferred to TABO format.
